Who are we
We're a new Charity aimed at bringing together people from all walks of life and all ages, working together as a team with one aim - to raise money for local and national organisations that need help, and children’s charities in the UK and abroad. As our fund-raising projects are launched we will designate one or two major charities that the proceeds will go to. We're new at the moment, but over time, as we become more widely known for our fund-raising, we will inevitably have requests from organisations needing our help, at that point it will be the responsibility of the Charity Committee to decide where our funds will be most wisely placed.
As the title implies it will enlist the help of everybody but especially calling on the willing support of the energetic retired army of people like myself. Our aim will be to generate enthusiasm and support for the charity Heaven Can Wait I’m Busy and encourage everybody to become involved in the many projects we hope to generate in the coming years.
The first of many major fund-raising projects is four guys in their 70's tackle The Ultimate Challenge. A challenge to drive two Suzuki Jimnys around the world. The coming together of the crew, preparation of the vehicles, the journey, the media coverage, the making of the film While We Have Time and the sale of the Jimnys on return is all part of this truly unique undertaking. It is what we will be talking about when we ask for help, donations or corporate sponsorship from the public on a street corner, your friends or from business – we hope it will interest everybody.
For our first major fund raiser, our main recipients will be Save the Children and Oakhaven Hospice. We be working with under their guidance to ensure we take every opportunity to raise as much as possible for their worthy projects. There will also be a number of smaller organisations who will benefit from our fund-raising efforts and as the Charity Committee identify those organisations we will publish them here on our site.
