“Get Checked” is a privately funded public awareness initiative on behalf of our charity “Heaven Can Wait I’m Busy”. The charity was registered during 2010 and was responsible for the management of the Ultimate Challenge a fund raising journey driving two Suzuki Jimny cars around the world. The event took place during 2013 and was a success and a credit to those taking part. The period of time since then, and until now, the charity has been active raising money at a number of events, however having acquired a taste for adventure our next world challenge was continuously under review resulting in a very demanding event that is scheduled to depart the UK March 2020, more about this later.
Having realised that we had time available between now and March 2020 to organise another event, and having experienced surgery and illness later in life ourselves we decided on this occasion that we would do something different we decided to carry an informative health message throughout the country that will affect every Man Woman and child, “Get Checked” was born.
The British public are generally aware of the consequence of not getting medically checked early in life if they want to avoid illness or surgery later; sadly very few people take the initiative and do something about it. We are not qualified medically to offer you specific advice as to what tests you should have but a test for Breast cancer or Prostate cancer would be a start, but ask your doctor, he or she will advise you. Our task is to remind the public what is at stake and what the consequences are if you do nothing. Our message is clear
IF YOU WANT TO LIVE LONGER AND FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR LOVED ONES “GET CHECKED” CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR “NOW” A FEW SIMPLE TESTS AND A FEW MINUTES OF YOUR TIME COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE.
You may be ill but just don’t know it, most ailments are treatable if detected early. Don’t just think about it, do something about it “GET CHECKED” talk to your doctor ask about a health check, testing procedures are in place with the NHS or if you are able to, at Private medical centres. The NHS and your doctor may be under pressure so don’t be surprised if you encounter some resistance to accommodate your request to “GET CHECKED” but you must persevere. You only have one life “GET CHECKED” and live it.
“GET CHECKED” doesn’t just focus on selective ailments it’s a rallying call against all ailments including mental health that could shorten your life one way or another if left undetected. Talk to your family and friends tell them about “GET CHECKED” and what they must do.
You don’t hesitate to service and M.O.T the family car to avoid it braking down so why not do the same with your body “GET CHECKED”. You can buy a new car when it’s worn out; a replacement body is harder to come by.
